MPT Services Awarded DBE Certification

December 1, 2009 - MPT Services, Inc (dba Metropolitan Parking and Transportation) was awarded DBE (Disadvantage Business Enterprise) certification on November 20th. This is a great success for MPT because it gives the company an even advantage for doing business with government agencies that obtain funding from the Department of Transportation. MPT Services is a minority and woman owned small business providing transportation and parking services to the Greater Metropolitan DC area. Receiving this certification helps companies like MPT win more government contracts and makes it easier to do business with the Washington Airports Authority.

The requirements for DBE certification is that a company must be at least 51 percent owned by a socially disadvantaged individual. The business must be a for-profit, SBA certified, small business with revenues that do not exceed $22 million. Some of the benefits include subcontracting referrals to potential prime contractors and prospective bidders for government contracts.

MPT is particularly interested in partnering with companies that provide service for the construction industry. Their strengths are in administrative and project management, and they would blend well with a company that is reputable and performs excellent services.
